Mary L. Combs, 67, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be at a later date in Sacramento.

Ms. Combs was born March 22, 1934, in Sioux City, the daughter of Ralph and Agnes Combs. She graduated from Heelan High School and attended Sacramento State College. She had been a resident of California for 47 years. She retired from the State of California Department of Motor Vehicle in 1997.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and Emblem 499. She enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include two sisters, Patricia Edel of Omaha, and Imogene and her husband, Don Demkee of Wooster, Ohio; three brothers, Dennis Combs and his wife, Sandy of Oklahoma City, Okla., Duane Combs and his wife, Penny of Davison, Mich., and Jerry Combs of Waterloo, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe and Paul; and a sister, Susan.
