Lila M. Aye, 87, of Sioux City died Friday, April 20, 2001, in Sioux City following a brief illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Gilbert of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Aye was born March 3, 1914, in Hornick, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Eldora (McKee) Miller. She was raised in Hornick and graduated from Hornick High School.

She married John Aye on March 5, 1949, in Worthington, Minn. They made their home in Sioux City. She was employed with Swift and Co. for 10 years. She also was employed with Big Wheel Restaurant, Palmer House and Martin's Evergreen Truck Stop. Her husband died June 25, 1965.

Survivors include a son, Richard of Omaha; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She also was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, Les, Elmer, Charlie, Edwin, Harry, Phoebe, Hazel and Sadie.
