Elizabeth "Bette Jane" Pence, 76, of Sioux City died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Paul McKane officiating. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pence was born Dec. 9, 1924, in Sioux City, the daughter of Clarence and Jean Ege. She attended Central High School and Briar Cliff College. She had been a resident of Rapid City, S.D., from 1953 to 1963.

She married Raymond Pence on July 8, 1964, in Dakota City.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Elizabeth and her husband, Ray Strand of Rapid City, Stephanie and her husband, Joe Audino of Sioux City, Christina and her husband, Christopher Lee of Salem, Va., and Sheila Alex of Milwaukee, Wis.; four sons, Patrick Rensch and his wife, Dianne, Jim Rensch and his wife, Linda, and Tom Rensch and his wife, Tami, all of Rapid City, and Scott of Denver, 13 grandchildren; and two brothers, Clarence "Bob" Ege and his wife, Lorraine, and John N. Ege, all of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Charity Cain.
