27 October 1971Ralph Van Buskirk, 89, Pierson, a retired farmer, died Monday at a Sioux City hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Pierson Methodist Church. The Rev. Forrest M. Lay will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under direction of the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley, Iowa.
Mr. Van Buskirk was born June 4, 1882, at Early, Iowa. He married the former Ida C. Trenn Feb. 27, 1905, in Sioux City. They farmed near Newcastle, Neb., McClusky, N.D., Kingsley, Climbing Hill and Bronson before retiring to Pierson in 1960.
Survivors include four sons, Alvin of Pierson, Arlo of South Sioux City, Duane of LaMirada, Calif., and Ralph Jr., of Yakima, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Viola) Nairn of Correctionville; a brother, Earl of Colfax. Wash.: 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 12 step-grandchildren.
