Alan C. Treptow, 18, Pierson, Western Iowa Tech student, died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital after a short illness.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pierson United Methodist Church. The Rev. Forest M. Lay will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Pierson, under direction of the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home.

Alan was born June 24, 1952, at Iowa City, Iowa. He was active in band at Kingsley-Pierson High School, from which he was graduated in 1970. He also was active in Boy Scout work.

Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Treptow of Pierson; a sister, Marilyn, at home; and his grandmother, Mrs. Harvey Miller of Correctionville.
