Rites for Longtime Resident of Pierson Scheduled Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Ruch, 79, of Pierson, a long time resident of Woodbury County who died Tuesday at a Storm Lake hospital after an illness of about two years, will be at 2 p. m. at the Pierson residence .

Rev. G. Serrill, pastor of the Pierson Christian church, will officiate. Burial will be in a Pierson cemetery under, direction of the Osborne funeral home.

Mrs. Ruch was well known throughout western Iowa as an installating officer of Rebekah lodge. She Joined the Tierson Valley, Rebekah lodge in 1907. In February 1908, she was named noble grand of the lodge degree staff, a position which she held for more than 40 years.

She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Pierson and a member of the Christian church. She had been organist at the church for several years.

Mrs. Ruch was born April 21, 1872, in Jackson County, near Maqoketa, la. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Ellis of Pierson. She had resided at Pierson for almost 70 years.

Survivors are the widower, Edward; two sons, Robert of Moville and Rex of Denison, la.; a sister, Miss Ida Ellis of Pierson, and two grandchildren.
