LAKE CITY, Iowa - Henry W. Rock, 95, of Lake City and former longtime Pierson resident, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1992, at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Huffman Memorial Chapel in Lake City with the Rev. Erland Asmus officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Pierson Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Lake City American Legion. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Rock was born March 3, 1897, at Rock Branch, the son of Christian and Louisa Rock. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He farmed at Pierson for 45 years, moving to Lake City 10 years ago.

Mr. Rock was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Correctionville and the Lake City American Legion Post 31.

Survivors include his wife, Rosella; a son and his wife, Earl and Jeanette Rock of Lake City; an adopted daughter, Donna Newton; three grandchildren, Craig Rock, Lake City, Mrs. Kevin (Carla) Alcox, Denver, Colo., and Caryn Rock, Lake City; and a great-grandson, Benjamin Alcox, Denver.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen; two brothers; and two sisters.
