Miss Flathers Buried Monday

Rock Branch Lady Dies Saturday Following Long Period of Sickness

The life of Miss Martha Flathers who has resided for a good many years in the Rock Branch community came to an end the latter part of last week and the remains were laid to rest in the Rock Branch cemetery

Miss Flathers’ health for the past ten years or so has not been very good and though she put up a game struggle for her life the death angel entered the home and departed with the soul of Miss Martha.

In 1913 deceased accepted Jesus as her Divine Saviour and her life has been spent since that time in Christian fellowship.

She was an active member of the Rock Branch Methodist church, being a Sunday school worker and also active in other departments of the organization.

She has spent her entire life on the same farmstead Just north of the community house in Rock Branch and everyone of that community and any place where she was known has respected and loved her.

The deceased leaves to mourn her departure her father, two brothers, George at Smithland, Iowa; Edward at Iriquols, South Dakota; two sisters, Mrs. H A. Wetmore of Sioux City and Miss Dolly Flathers, who is at home.

Funeral services were held from the Rock Branch church Monday afternoon at 2:30. Rev McCabe in charge. Interment was made in the cemetery at Rock Branch beside her mother who passed to the great beyond about five years ago.
