CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa - Armour Cooper, 88, of Correctionville died Wednesday at Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Walter Funeral Home in Anthon. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery in Rock Branch. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Armour Cooper, age 88, passed away December 19, 1990 at the Cherokee Hospital.

Services were held Friday, December 21 at 1:30 p.m. at the Walter Chapel in Anthon, Iowa, with Pastor Dee Ann Klapp officiating. Message in music was provided by Mrs. Lawrence Camarigg. Pallbearers were Leonard Wilcox, Larry Fixsel, Larry Meyer, Gary Wilcox, Gaylen Knaack and Earl Eickhorn. Mrs. Arjean Meyer and Mrs. Jeanette Eickhorn were in charge of flowers.

Interment was in Fairfield Cemetery, Rock Branch, rural Correctionville, Iowa, under direction of Walter Funeral Service.

Armour Cooper, the son of Elize and Irene (Hyronius) Cooper was born May 8, 1902 at Adams, Ks. In 1904 he came with his parents to the Correctionville community in a covered wagon. Later they lived southeast of Moville. On August 4, 1920, he was united in marriage to Maxine Rarck. In 1936, they bought the filling station at Rock Branch which they owned for 2 years at which time they moved to Oregon. They farmed for 11 years and trucked for 43 years, in 1945 moving in to Correctionville, Ia. His wife, Maxine, passed away on October 9, 1981. Armour was united in marriage to Carol Koulouris Kummer on September 25, 1989 at Cherokee, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, 3 daughters, Mrs. Betty Hanson of Correctionville, Iowa, Virginia and her husband, Clair Beeghly of Prineville, Oregon, Charlene and her husband, the Rev. Dean Bottjen of Watseka, Ill.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, a brother and his wife, Glen and Claudine Cooper of Sheradan, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maxine, a daughter Ruth, a granddaughter, Barbra Beeghly, one brother and two sisters.
