Moville, Ia. -- Special: Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Carney, 85, longtime resident here, who died Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. J. Burkley, at Broadview, Mont., after a stroke suffered Thursday, will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Eldridge Memorial United Brethren church here. Rev. Carl Riggs will officiate. Burial will be in the Rock Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Carney was born February 10, 1867, at Bethany, Mo. She remained there until about 1890 when she moved to Parkston, S. D. She was married there to George Carney the following year.

The same year the couple moved to Ocheyedan, Ia., where they farmed. They subsequently lived in other towns in northern Iowa, including Moville, until 1914. At that time they began homesteading near Broadview. In 1922 the couple returned to Moville, living on a farm with Mrs. Carney's stepdaughter, Mrs. Fred Griep.

Following her husband's death in 1937, Mrs. Carney moved into Moville.

She returned to Broadview in 1944 to live with the daughter.

Mrs. Carney was an active member of E. U. B. church here.

The body arrived at Moville Monday.

Survivors in addition to the two daughters are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
