Leonard Baumgardner, 60, of Moquah, Wisconsin, died in St. Vincent's Hospital in Sioux City early Thursday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident at 21st and Myrtle Streets Wednesday afternoon.

Baumgardner succumbed to a fractured skull and internal injuries at 4:30 Thursday morning. He did not regain consciousness from the time he entered the hospital until death occurred. A.E. Watkins, rural route No. 3, at whose home Baumgartner had been visiting, and driver of the automobile, escaped without injuries in the accident.

Mr. Baumgardner was born near Correctionville September 4, 1870. He was second in a family of eight children of Moses A. and Diantha O. Baumgardner. His youth was spent on a farm near Rock Branch and one near Washta. Later he lived both in Minnesota and Dakota. Ten years were spent in Canada, then for four years he lived in Sioux City. In the spring of 1930, he moved to Wisconsin.

Mr. Baumgardner had never married. The family ties were strong with him so he took occasion nearly every year to spend a little time with various families among the relatives.

The deceased did not belong at the time of his death to any lodges or organizations. He had never united with the Church, though he was a firm believer in its tenets. He was a good man who strove to incorporate the finer virtues into his life.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Episcopal Church Sunday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. John B. Walker. Interment was made in the cemetery at Rock Branch by the side of his mother and other members of his family.
