Audrey Ann Alfredson, 84, of Sloan, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa.

A private family Celebration of Life Service was held. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Audrey was born on August 28, 1936, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of George and Flossie (Nelson) Gerking. She grew up in Onawa and graduated from Onawa High School in 1954.

She married Vernon Ray Alfredson on October 18, 1954, in Honolulu, Hawaii. To this union, three daughters were born: Cindra, Beth, and Linda. The couple made their home in rural Sloan, where they were lifelong farmers. She enjoyed raising her children and she was very proud of their home.

Audrey loved to travel to Houston, Texas to see her grandchildren and shop with the girls. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, wintering in Texas, and spending time with her grandchildren. Audrey loved her cat “Tiny” who was with her for twenty-two years.

Survivors include, three daughters, Cindra Alfredson of Houston, Texas, Beth Alfredson and husband Rick Jenkins of Palacios, Texas, and Linda and husband Troy Ingram of Sloan, Iowa; grandchildren, Marissa and husband Nathan Jamieson, Michlene and husband Marco Passeri, and Jarryd and wife Sarita Daniels; great-grandchildren, Grant and Sloan Jamieson; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Alfredson of Sloan, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Flossie (Nelson) Gerking; husband, Vernon R. Alfredson; and sister, Ardis Heien.
