Mrs. Anton Andersen, 78, Route 2, Sioux City, died Monday at a hospital after a long illness.

The former Kirsten Madsen was born Sept. 20, 1887, in Denmark. She resided in the Anthon and Sioux City areas since a child. She was married to Anton L. Andersen Nov. 10, 1913, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors besides the widower include a son Donald of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Chris Madsen of Cherokee, Iowa, and Peter Madsen of Anthon; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Renneker, Mrs. Laura Brehens, and Miss Petra Madsen, all of Anthon, and Mrs. Eva Mann of Chicago, and one grandchild.

The body was taken to the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anton Andersen, 78, Route 2, Sioux City, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Russell J. Olson will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Branch Cemetery under direction of the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside.

Mrs. Andersen died Monday at a hospital after a long illness.
