Mrs. Florence Althaus

KINGSLEY, Iowa - Mrs. Florence Althaus, 74, of Kingsley died Monday, Nov. 20, 1989, in a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Salem Lutheran Church, rural Correctionville with the Rev. Martin Osterloh officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery at Rock Branch. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in Dickison -Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Mrs. Althaus, the former Florence Clausen, was born July 31, 1915, in Anthon and lived her childhood years in the Correctionville area. She married Herbert W. Althaus Dec. 10, 1943, near Correctionville. The couple farmed near Pierson and moved to Kingsley in 1969.

Mrs. Althaus was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid of the church. She was a volunteer at Colonial Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include her husband; five sons and daughters-in-law, David and Diane of Sioux Rapids, James and Barbara of Des Moines, Richard and Janet of El Cajon, Calif., Gary and Tracey of Sioux City, and Donald and Ann of Victoria, Texas; a daughter and a son-in-law, Barbara and Terry Fletcher of Kingsley; a brother, William Clausen of Anthon and 14 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Emil.
