John W. Schoberg, 71, 2009 S. Magnolia Street, a Sioux City resident for 11 years, died Saturday at a hospital after an illness of two years.

Mr. Schoberg was born April 12, 1885, near Oto and resided in that vicinity until coming here, He was a dragline operator.

He married Freda Thompson in Oto September 21, 1926. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic church.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Sokolowski, Martha and Ann Marie, all of Sioux City; two grandchildren, and a brother, Samuel of Spencer, Neb.

Funeral services will be at 9.30 a. m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception church. Rev. Raymond Weiling will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery in Oto.

The rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Monday at the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside.
