Mrs. Florence Steele, 79, 2719 First street, died Sunday at a hospital.

Mrs. Steele was born May 20, 1868, near Moville, la. She was married to Vance J. Steele, August 30, 1887. She was a member of the Christian church at Holly Springs, Ia.

Survivors are the widower, four daughters, Mrs. Jenny Mahanna of Loveland, Colo.: Mrs. Julia Saunders of Los Angeles, Mrs. Marie Teel of Hornick, Ia., and Mrs. Nina Harbeck of Sioux City; a son, Walter Steele of Hornick; a sister, Mrs. Gertie Heck of Viola, Idaho; three brothers, Arthur Seward of Hornick, Martin Seward of Sioux City and Clarence Seward of Oakland, Cal.: 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside.
