10 August 1954James O. Steele, 83, 3212 Macomb Avenue, died Monday at a hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Steele was born October 9, 1870, at Malova, O., and moved to the Holly Springs vicinity in 1897. He farmed near there until his retirement six years ago when he moved to Sioux City.
He married Cora Metcalf. Mrs. Steele died in 1945.
Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Christian church at Holly Springs. Rev. Russell Rodgers, pastor of Morningside Christian Church, will officiate and burial will be in the Holly Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Emma Staudt and Misses Josephine Steele and Mary Steele, all of Sioux City.
The Winter funeral home has charge of arrangements.
