Lewis W. Stanton, 83, Casa de Paz Care Center, 2121 W. 19th St., died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside. The Rev. Ralph Brink, of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Willow Township Cemetery.

Mr. Stanton was born March 10, 1896, in Laddonia, Mo. He moved with his parents as a small child to Madison, Ill. and in 1903 he moved to Texas.

He served with the U.S. Army in France during World War I, returning to Hornick, Iowa after his discharge. He moved to St. Louis, Mo. where he worked for the Railroad Terminal, He married Nellie E. Luchsinger, May 5, 1954, in Onawa, Iowa. They retired in 1956 and came to Sioux City in 1978. He was of the Baptist faith and the Disabled American Veterans, St. Louis, Mo.

Survivors include the widow and two sisters, Mrs. Addle Adams of VanNuys, Calif, and Mrs. Elsie Schultz of Sioux City.
