Mrs. Louis Stanton, 85, 2121 W. 19th St., formerly of Hornick, Iowa, died Sunday at a Sioux City nursing home after a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside. The Rev. Sam Brink of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery in Holly Springs, Iowa.

Mrs. Stanton, the former Nellie Edna Luchsinger, was born Oct. 6, 1895, in Minden, Iowa. She lived in the Rock Island, Ill., and Davenport, Iowa, area before moving to Hornick in the early 1900s.

She married Louis Stanton May 15, 1954, in Onawa, Iowa. They lived in St. Louis, Mo., and Phoenix, Ariz., retiring in 1956 and moving to Sioux City in 1978. Mr. Stanton died Oct. 21, 1979, In Sioux City.

She worked for Kresge Co. about 35 years.

She was a Baptist.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ford (Marie) Skinner, and a brother, Harry, both of Hornick.
