Duane P. Housh, 1944 - 2021

Duane P. Housh, 76, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Unity Point Health-St. Luke’s, Sioux City, Iowa.

Per Duane’s wishes cremation has occurred. A Celebration of Life will be 12:00 Noon – 5:00 P.M. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Masonic Lodge, Onawa, Iowa. (Masks are encouraged at the Celebration of Life) Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Duane was born February 20, 1944 in Redfield, South Dakota the son of Glen and Florence Maude (Van Hoosen) Housh.

Duane and Crystal Ann (Moreland) were married on December 23, 1961 at the Baptist Church in Omaha, Nebraska. They shared fifty-nine years together.

He worked for the City of Omaha for forty-one years. During that time, he became a dedicated member of Mason of Omaha, Shriner of Omaha, and 32nd Scottish Rite of Omaha Divisions. Duane in his lifetime lived in many places which include: Redfield, South Dakota, Omaha, Nebraska, Vicinity, Nebraska, Oakridge, Oregon, and Onawa, Iowa. He had a great love for motorcycles and classic cars. He looked forward to visiting Sturgis, South Dakota ever year to see all of his favorites. Duane also loved country western movies. He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help anyone. He was an amazing role model to have.

Duane was a dedicated foster parent for more than half of his life (forty-one years). He has made an everlasting impact on anyone he came in contact with. Most of all Duane Housh was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His wit and charm will truly be missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Crystal Housh; children, Carvin (June) Housh, Tabby Housh-Hearn, Billie (Paul) Fisher, Shaun (Teresa) Housh, and Benjamin Housh; grandchildren, Carvin Housh Jr., Jessica (Brandon) Cox, CeJay Housh, Janae Housh, Andrew (Dacia) Hearn, Logan Hearn, Christiana Edwards, Hope (Dan) Hearn, Dillon (Courtney) Housh, and Rebecca Fisher; great-grandchildren, Ayla Leach, Carvin III, Caiden and Caius Housh, Brandon Jr., Josiah, Julianna and Bronx Cox, Mazie, Chevy, Autumn, and Crimson Hearn, Hayden Edwards, Noah, Alexander, Giovanna Colantino, Blake, Angel, and Jax Housh; and one brother, Glenn Housh Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Florence Housh; brothers and sisters, Kenny (Cathy) Housh, Roy (Mary Lou) Housh, Don (Vi) Housh, Gladys (Bud) Volker, Tessie (Floyd) Eidsness, Mildred “Mickey” (Leonard) Housh; and great-grandson, Angel Housh who will always be in his arms.
