Jerry C. Taylor, 83, of Whiting, Iowa (formerly of Sioux City, Iowa) passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

Per Jerry’s wishes, cremation has occurred. Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. March 27, 2021 at the Wakefield Cemetery, Wakefield, Nebraska. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Jerry was born February 2, 1938 in Redmond, Oregon and grew up in Elgin, Nebraska. He went to Wayne State College, Wayne Nebraska where he was an All-American basketball player. Jerry was in the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska. He worked at Penn Corp Insurance.

He loved to travel, white water raft, boat on the Missouri river, and golf. He was a die-hard Husker fan.

Survivors include his children, Melanie, Phil and fiance Kim Sullivan, and Liz and Terry Morehead; one sister, Judy Gaeth; Six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca; one brother, Charles; and two sisters, JoAnn Rouse and Peg Chocholosek.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
