Alvin William Kilzer, 56, lifelong resident of Smithland, died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Omaha, after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Friday at the Hornick Methodist Church. The Rev. Keith Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery under the direction of the Willman Funeral Home, Rodney, Iowa.

Mr. Kilzer was born Jan. 20, 1910, at Smithland. He married Lula M. Mortensen April 20, 1942, at Dakota City. They farmed near Smithland. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Leslie F. Seaton Post 666 American Legion, Smithland.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Marlene and Karen, both of Sioux City, and Janet, at home; a son, Charles, at home.
