MRS. ANNA A. HAWKS

An early day resident of Woodbury County, Mrs. Anna A. Hawks, 74, died Monday night in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dora Bower, 817 Wall street. Death came after a sickness of a month of paralysis and pneumonia.

Mrs. Hawks was born October 28, 1862 at Smithland. When she was 5 years old, she settled on a homestead near Holly Springs with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Lee. Mrs. Hawks was married January 28, 1883, at Holly Springs to Abraham Lincoln Hawks. He preceded her in death here two years ago. Mrs. Hawks was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.

Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Bower, are a son, Fred, also of Sioux City; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to the W. Harry Christy funeral home at 711 Myrtle Street pending completion of funeral arrangements.
