John Francis Gallagher, 82, a farmer who lived near Hornick during the last 35 years, died at his home Wednesday following a sickness of two weeks.

Mr. Gallagher was born August 30, 1853, in Ohio. April 14, 1888, Mr. Gallagher and Miss Ella M. Knoop were married at Corning, la.

An extensive landowner, Mr. Gallagher engaged in livestock feeding and was active in farming until his recent sickness. He was a member of Columbia lodge, No. 13, Knights of Pythias,, and was connected with the K. P. lodge for 48 years.

Surviving Mr. Gallagher are his widow, Mrs. Ella M. Gallagher; four sons, Fred John and Roy of Hornick and George of Omaha; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Watts of Nodaway, la., and Mrs. Ella Rhoads of Sioux City; four brothers, a sister and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Methodist church at Hornick. Becker's funeral home will be in charge.
