HORNICK, Iowa - Ethel C. Fox, 87, of rural Hornick died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 1989, at her residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Sloan with the Rev. Walter Enstrom officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery, rural Holly Springs. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Mrs. Fox, the former Ethel C. Johnson, was born April 9, 1902, in Concordia, Kan., the daughter of Hugo and Myrtle (Marshall) Johnson. She married Charles J. Fox Sept. 6, 1928, in Dodge City, Kan. He died Jan. 13, 1966, in Poplar Bluffs, Mo. She was a registered nurse for 35 years at St. Joseph's Hospital in Concordia, Kan. She came to the Hornick area 15 years ago.

Mrs. Fox was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Norfork, Ark.

Survivors include a son, James Fox of Sioux City; a sister, Millie Ring of Kansas City, Mo.; two granddaughters, Deborah Sulsberger of rural Hornick and Sonya Meske of Yankton, S.D.; two grandsons, David Fox of Sergeant Bluff and Michael Fox of Whiting, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter; three sisters, Florence, Vera, and Mary and a brother, Norman.
