MRS. LAFAYETTE DOWLING

Funeral services for Mrs. Lafayette Dowling, 84, Hornick will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Hornick. The Rev. Paul Textor will officiate. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Cemetery under direction of the wood Funeral Home in Sloan.

Mrs. Dowling died Tuesday in a hospital at Beloit, Wis.

The former Mary P. Hindman, she was born Dec. 27, 1885 at Hornick. She was married Dec. 9, 1902, at Onawa. Mr. Dowling died Sept. 11, 1948.

She was a lifelong resident of Hornick area. During the last year she resided with her daughter, Mrs. Dwight (Maxyne) Nystrom at Beloit.

Mrs. Dowling was affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Hornick.

Survivors besides Mrs. Nystrom include three sons, Donald of Eugene, Ore., Clifford of Portland, Ore. and Leonard of Plattsmouth, Neb.; six daughters, Mrs. Ray (Dolores) Nordstrom of Sloan, Mrs. Mildred Sherman of Hornick, Mrs. Hazel Kersey of Oregon City, Ore., Mrs. Donald (Bernyce) McReynolds of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Ed (Helen) Howe and Mrs. James (Edith) McKennely, both of Sioux City; a sister Mrs. Ada Alam of Winnebago, Neb.; four brothers, Frank of Winnebago, Henry of Hornick, Charles of Sioux City and Willis of Bellevue, Neb.; 27 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
