Darlene (Jones) Welton, 76, of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 1996, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of an apparent heart attack.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Southtown Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the Southtown Funeral Home.

Mrs. Welton was born Aug. 10, 1920, near Ottumwa, the daughter of Russell R. and Sybil Marie (White) Jones. She lived in Sioux City from 1946 to 1966. She married Herbert A. Welton on Jan. 15, 1944.

She was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Pamela Ann Binder of Rockford, Ill.; a son Marcus Alan of Des Moines; a sister, Carolyn Tully of Blakesburg, Iowa; and two grandchildren, David Adam and Thomas Andrew Binder.

Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army.
