Nancy L. Jepsen

Nancy L. Jepsen, 49, of Sioux City, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Harry Walker officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p. m, at Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jepsen was born April 19, 1947 in Wayne, Neb., to Garlie and Argean (Alderson) Sailors. She was raised in the Dakota City area and graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1965. In 1964, she was installed as advisor of the Lynn Broyhill Assembly #12 Rainbow Girls of South Sioux City, and was also a state officer in the Nebraska Rainbow assembly. She married Ronald D. Jepsen on Jan. 21, 1967, at Dakota City, Neb. She lived in Sioux City the last several years, and was working in food service at East Middle School. She also did volunteer work for East High School athletics and Little League baseball in Morningside.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, sang in the church choir, and was a teacher for The Awana Club.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Brian of Sioux City, and Jeff of Wayne; her mother of South Sioux City; two brothers and their wives, Rod and Kris Sailors of Lyons, Neb., and Kim and Terri Sailors of Dakota City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Pallbearers include Nick, Tom, and Brett Sailors, Kevin and Keith Viken, and Nick Arnold.
