Charles W. Morris, 73, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996. at Marian Health Center, following a brief illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Funeral Home, with Rev. Fred Penner of Glendale Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mr. Morris was born March 6, 1923 in Sioux City, to Charles and Florence (Sims). He married Ellen M. Beardshear on June 8, 1946, in Sioux City. He was a lifetime resident of Sioux City. He was an upholsterer, working first for the Simmonsen Company, then with Bohan Furniture & Upholstering, retiring in 1984.
He is a U.S. Army veteran from World War II.
Survivors include his wife; one son and his wife, Robin and Thea of Christ Church, New Zealand; three daughters and their husbands, Janice and Larry Linton, Kathy and David Bertrand, and Barb and Donovan Chrestensen, all of Sioux City; one sister, Florence McKeever of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Dennis and Dean; two brothers, Wellington and Earl; and two sisters, Sylvia Curtis and Ellen Plantz.
