Floyd W. Williams

Floyd Wayne Williams, 82, of Sioux City died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Hagberg officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation, with the family, will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Nelson Berger Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Williams was born Jan. 4, 1914, in Neil, Kan., the son of Forace and Effie (Van Oleave) Williams. He graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1932.

He married Merrill Erickson on Sept. 20, 1937, in Sioux City. The couple were foster parents.

He was employed with Armor and Company, in the engineering department, for 42 years.

He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, where he was head usher and on the church council. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and bowling.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Doug and Patricia of Sioux City; two brothers, Harold and his wife, Marcella, of Pinole, Calif., and Alva of Sioux City; three sisters and their husbands, Aileen and Robert LeMoine of Rock Springs, Wyo., Geneva and Harold LaBhan of McKinleyville, Calif., and Betty and James Pulley of Morton, Wash.; four grandchildren, Judy Huldeen, Greg and Robert Williams and Kelly Eide; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Floyd, and a daughter, Barbara Anne.

Memorials may be given in his name to St. Mark Lutheran Church
