Elizabeth 'Bette' Maysonholder

SIOUX CITY - Elizabeth "Bette" Ross Maysonholder, 86, of West Bend, Wis., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, May 11, 2009, in West Bend.

Graveside services and burial will be 9 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Waterbury Chapel.

Bette was born July 28, 1922, in Sioux City, to Barend Fredrick Adolph Ross and Theadora Hendrika "Vlaanderen" Ross, both from Holland, and who met and married in Sioux City. Bette grew up and went to school in Sioux City, where she graduated from Central High School in 1940.

She married Hank Maysonholder in Sioux City in 1944. (She was the girl next door). Mr. Maysonholder died of malaria shortly after their marriage while serving in the military. Bette worked for many years in Sioux City before moving to West Bend. She retired from the West Bend Company, where she was a bookkeeper. She enjoyed raising and showing dogs and working in her flower garden.

She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Joan Roberts Meng, Jeanene Roberts, David Roberts and Fay Dennis Roberts of Arizona and California, Rob Authier and Teddy Authier of Connecticut; and many dear and loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two older sisters, Wilhelmina "Minnie" Ross Roberts of Arizona, and Dorothy Ross Authier of Connecticut.
