SIOUX CITY - Dorothy E. Carlberg, 45, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, 2101 Jackson St., with the Rev. Andy Anderson officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.
Dorothy was born Oct. 6, 1963, in Sioux City, the daughter of Paul and Lorena (Ernst) Nelson. She attended school in Sioux City.
She loved to cook and entertain for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with puzzles, camping, fishing and was an avid Vikings fan.
She is survived by her husband, James; three sons, Sean Nelson, Brandon Nelson and Travis Nelson, all of Sioux City; a step-son, Rick Carlberg of Sioux City; a brother, Paul Nelson of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two sisters, Ruth Nelson and her friend, George David of Sioux City and Mary and her husband, Eldon Crosgrove of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-son, Tyler Carlberg; and two sisters, Betty Jasman and Loretta Nelson.
