SERGEANT BLUFF -Frances G. (Burge) Camerer, 83, of Sergeant Bluff passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Embassy Rehabilitation in Sergeant Bluff .

Abiding by her wishes, her remains were cremated. No formal service will be held. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Frances was born fan. 24, 1926, to Henry Frank Burge and Eva Lukecart Davis Burge, in Presho, S.D. She lived her early years in Sloan, Iowa. Upon the death of her father, she moved to Sioux City with her mother and siblings. She lived in Sioux City on the lower east side and attended Woodrow Wilson School.

In May 1944, she married Roy L Camerer. Three children were born to this union, Leo "Skip" in 1945, Tim in 1950 and Marsha in 1954. The couple moved to the Sergeant Bluff area prior to 1950, where they lived on the farm on Glenn Ellen Road. In 1955, they moved into Sergeant Bluff proper. She lived in Sergeant Bluff the remainder of her life. She was a resident of Embassy Rehabilitation since November 2008.

She worked for various local businesses including Laurence's Foods on Sioux City's lower east side, Woodford's Grocery in Sergeant Bluff until it closed and Mustafa's Cafe until she retired.

She is survived by her children, Leo and his wife, JoAnn of Sioux City, Tim and his wife, Ruth Makela, of San Antonio, Texas, and Marsha and her husband, Steve Hough, of Sergeant Bluff; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marguerite Sanderson of Sergeant Bluff and Mildred Aguirre of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981; six siblings; two half siblings; and a great-grandchild.
