SIOUX CITY - Veronica I. Shupe, 93, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be l p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Hanneman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Veronica was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Rock Valley, Iowa, to Oliver H. and Dollie (Miller) Stonehocker.

She married James H. Shupe on July 3, 1937, in Dakota City. To this union three children were born, James, Diana and Terry. She cleaned homes, often referred as a "day worker" for various families in the Sioux City area.

She enjoyed country music and will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

She is survived by her children, James C. Shupe of Sioux City, Diana C. Hutchinson of Winder, Ga., and Terry L. Shupe and his wife, Mary, of Sioux City; grandchildren, Debbie, Missy, Barry, Terry, Tracy, Stacy, Lauri, Pam, Sherri and Angela; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, in 1976; two brothers; three sisters; and a grandson, Jeramy Shupe.
