SOUTH SIOUX CITY (Died Sioux City)-Agnes J. Weaver, 100, of South Sioux City passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Liewer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, with a Legion of Mary rosary at 4 p.m and the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Agnes Josephine McCarville was born May 25, 1908, the daughter of Dominic and Teresa (McCormac) McCarville. She attended public school in Slayton, Minn., and graduated from St. Gabriel's School in Fulda, Minn. She attended Nettleton Business School in Sioux Falls, S.D. She was employed in Pukwana and Sioux Falls, S.D.

She married Wayne Weaver on Oct. 24, 1945, in Slayton. The couple farmed in Salem, S.D. until 1951, then they moved to Sioux City. Wayne died Nov. 17, 1961, in Sioux City. She then was employed at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and Western Iowa Technical College, retiring in 1971. She moved to South Sioux City in 1992.

She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary in South Sioux City and Catholic Daughters of America St. Patricia Court 271 in Sioux Falls.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Michael and Pam of South Sioux City; two grandchildren, Jason and Amanda Weaver; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; a daughter, Catherine Weaver in 1985; two brothers; three sisters; and a grandson, Justin Weaver.
