SIOUX CITY- Amelia M. Connors, 98, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Sioux City and Jefferson, S.D., died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Luther Manor in Sioux Falls.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a Catholic Daughters of America rosary at 7 p.m., at Miller Funeral Home, Main Avenue, in Sioux Falls. Amelia M. DeLaurier was born Oct. 4, 1910, in Vermillion, S.D. She moved with her family to Jefferson, S.D., in 1917. She grew up in Jefferson, where she received her education, graduating from Jefferson High School. Following high school, she attended Midwest Business College in Sioux City, graduating in 1930.

On May 14, 1934, she was united in marriage to Hubert Connors in Jefferson. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Jefferson and Sioux City before moving to Sioux Falls in 1949. While living in Sioux Falls, she was employed as a sales clerk for Fantle's Department Store and a women's clothing store, Mode-O-Day.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and was a volunteer member of the Avera McKennan Auxiliary for 30 years.

Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Ronald Connors of Severance, Colo.; a daughter, Mary (Connie) Miller of Sioux Falls; and two grandchildren, Lisa (Marc) Tarr and their children, Joshua and David Tarr and Patrick (Kelly) Miller and their children, Zharayya, Ayndia and Aaliyah Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 7, 1997; her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Michael Miller.
