HORNICK, Iowa - Mike Bell 65, of rural Hornick and Grant Center, Iowa, area died suddenly Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at a Sioux City hospitaL

Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa, with Will McDowell officiating. There will be no visitation or buriaL

Michael David Bell was born May 1, 1943, in Glen-dale, Calif., the son of William and Maxine (Turner) Bell. He was raised and educated in California, and had lived in Arizona for several years. He was an educational film producer at the University of Arizona's radio and television department. In 1980, he moved to Iowa to pursue agriculture and his future wife and family.

He and Charlotte Pearson "Bainbridge were united in marriage on Sept. 17, 1982, in Onawa. He had served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Throughout his life, he had been employed at various chemical companies in Arizona and Iowa. He was nearing retirement from Nutra-Flo after 22 years. He was presently serving on the Industrial Instrumentation and Control Board with Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa.

He was always giving and caring to others. At the end of his life, he was an Iowa organ donor.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte of Hornick; a daughter and her husband, Toni and Mike Wood of Walls, Miss.; and grandson, Marcus of Walls; a step-daughter, Jennifer Dunning of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother and his wife, Kit and Lynn Bell of Wetstone, Ariz.; two sisters and their husbands, Billie and Larry Tappan of Page, Ariz., and Kimberly Bell-McDowell and Will McDowell of Missoula, Mont.; and his mother-in-law, Lottie Pierce of Onawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Aaron Bainbridge.
