SIOUX CITY - Elvin F. "Tiny" Muxfeldt, 77, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009, at a Sioux City hospitaL Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Tiny was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Williams, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Ollie (Muxfeldt) Barkaema. He graduated from Jewell (Iowa) High School in 1950. He was a police officer in Jewell for short time before working for the Chicago Northern Railroad.

On July 29, 1962, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Downhour in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. They moved to the Sioux City area in 1968. During the 1970s, he worked construction at the Port Neal Power Plant. He later worked for the Burlington Northern Rail road.

He had a great sense of humor and it brought him great joy to bring laughter to other lives. When he wasn't enjoying being with his grandchildren, he would be tinkering on his cars, electrical appliances or whatever else could be taken apart and fixed. He enjoyed being on the bowling team at the old Sergeant Bluff Lanes.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Sandra Kay and her husband, James Price of Sioux City; many nieces and nephews; his in-laws, Delores Huff, Marilyn Downhour, Molly Vess and Maynard Kilpatrick; his grandchildren, James A. Price Jr., Kayla Nicole Price and her boyfriend, Thomas Powell, Tylor Price and Allen Jacob Price; and his great-grandson, Landen James Price.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harvey Muxfeldt and Wayne Barkaema.
