Wayne K. Pecaut

SIOUX CITY- Wayne K. Pecaut, 97, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2009, at his residence after a lingering illness.

Services will be l p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 1401 South Covell Avenue, Sioux Falls. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Sioux Falls. Visitation with the family present will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 507 South Main Ave., Sioux Falls.

Wayne K. Pecaut was born on Oct. 10, 1911, in Sioux City, to parents, Mary and John Pecaut. He grew up in Sioux City, where he received his education and graduated from Central High School in 1931. Following high school, he worked as a sales representative for Roberts Dairy in Sioux City.

From 1946 to 1977, he joined the Pecaut Equipment Company as a sales representative for 15 years, and then he managed the Pecaut Equipment Company Sioux Falls branch for 16 years. He retired in 1977. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, camping, golfing, fishing and playing cards with his friends.

Grateful for having shared his life, are his wife Dorothy of Sioux Falls; a son, Jon S. Pecaut (Waynette) of Lake Madison, S.D.; three daughters, Marsha A. Shipke of Novato, Calif., Susan D. Lavin (Chuck) of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Tricia L. Pecaut of Indio, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Darrell Pecaut of Sioux City.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters
