SIOUX CITY -Richard J. "Dick" Graham, 75, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, July 4, 2009, home in Omaha.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Catholic Church, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 8 p.m., and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Richard was born Jan. 2, 1934, in Sioux City, the son of Howard and Lois (Wells) Graham. In 1952, he graduated from Bishop Heelan High School. He then served with the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean Conflict. For most of his life, he had been in auto sales, both in Sioux City and in Omaha.

He had resided in Omaha since 1964, where he was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Richard was an avid reader and was known for his humor by sharing his many jokes with others.

He is survived by his longtime friend, Edna Holzman of Omaha; three sisters, Bev Rice of Anaheim, Calif., Carol Carter and her husband, Chuck of Muscatine, Iowa, and Connie Godfrey and her husband, Ed of Montevideo, Minn.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Fred Rice,

Pallbearers will be Craig Godfrey, Tim Godfrey, Mark Reidinger, Ron Gotto, Dale Kreft and Russ Holzman.
