Terry Hoyt SIOUX CITY -

Terry "Hoot" Hoyt, 56, of Sioux City died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital after a noble fight with cancer.

Family and friends are invited to a "Celebration of Terry's Life - He Fought a Noble Fight" at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3 (casual dress, jeans) at The Life Church, 4125 Orleans Ave., Sioux City. Bring a celebrating spirit, story to tell and pictures to show during the event. Refreshments will be served. Terry was born Sept. 16, 1952, to Marvin and Nancy (Skelton) Hoyt and grew up in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He lived in Des Moines, Omaha and Sioux City.

A skilled craftsman and adventurous traveler, he loved life and lived it with passion. An avid pilot, motorcycle enthusiast, nature lover and storyteller, he will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Survivors include his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Dale Ann Hoyt and Jim and Cathy Hoyt, all of Missouri Valley: nieces, Sarah Hornbeck and Annemarie Hoyt; nephews, Joel, Adam, Ben and Mac Hoyt; other extended family; plus numerous friends.

Donations in his memory may be made to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center.
