19 April, 2009SIOUX CITY -- Paul Francis Walsted, 64, formerly of Sioux City passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, at his residence in Laughlin, Nev., following a courageous battle with cancer.
Services were held April 16 in Laughlin. Condolences may be sent to his wife, Gloria Walsted, 12000 Vista Nogol St., San Antonio, TX 78213-1240.
Paul was born in Sioux City on June 11, 1944, to Frances and Roy Walsted. He attended St. Boniface Grade School and graduated from Heelan High School in 1962. He attained the rank of sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam at Cam Rahn Bay from 1968 to 1969.
He married Gloria Ossont on March 3, 1985. Together, they were members of the South Sioux City Eagles and a part of their clown troupe. He retired from Sioux Tools and moved with his wife to Laughlin, Nev.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; a stepson and his wife, Frank and Nicole; granddaughters, Ashley, Maddison and MacKenzie; his brothers, Larry and Margie and Jerry; sisters, Valene and Leo Petersen and Kay and Brian Adam; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, James and Tom.
