SIOUX CITY -- Pablo P. Munoz, 60, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 12, 2009, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cathedral of the Epiphany, with the Rev. Matt Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery, Homer, Neb. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will resume 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 9 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.christysmith.com.

Pablo was born June 19, 1948, in Leon, Gto, Mexico, to Fidencio and Francisca (Perez) Munoz. He grew up and married Teresa Alba in Mexico.

He came to Chicago, Ill., in 1974, and moved to Sioux City in 1990, where he had been a resident ever since. He had been employed with John Morrell for the past 19 years.

He was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany. He enjoyed grilling at cookouts, traveling, fixing everything, old classic black and white movies and watching the 5:30 news.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa of Sioux City; a son, Esteban and Claudia Munoz of South Beloit, Ill., and children, Stephanie, Alex and Jessica; a daughter, Ana and Epitacio Munoz of Sioux City and children, Bella and Adrian; a daughter, Gabriela and Juan Carlos Torres of Sioux City and children, CJ, Aaron and Jacob; a daughter, Alejandra and Jose Buenrostro of Dakota City and children, Marco, Janessa and Vanessa; a daughter, Jeanette Munoz of Sioux City and children, Ethan and Jared; a daughter, Sandy Munoz a senior at East High School; a son, Kevin Munoz a sophomore at East High School; two sisters in Mexico; and two brothers in Mexico.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Juana in infancy; his parents; and two brothers.
