13 March 2009LE MARS, Iowa (Buried Sioux City)-- Beverly Patnaude, 70, of Le Mars passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Brentwood Center, Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, with the Rev. Jason Larson of Le Mars United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.mauerjohnsonfh.com.
Beverly Carolyn Brown was born March 12, 1938, in Shenandoah, Iowa, the daughter of Hazzard L. and Hilda Mae (Cooper) Brown. She was raised in the Marshalltown, Iowa, area, where she graduated from high school in 1956.
It was there that she met Ronald M. Collins. They were later married in August 1956, in Marshalltown. To this union three children were born, David, Debra and Dane. The couple made their home in San Diego, Calif. for a brief time while Ronald served in the U.S. Marine Corps. They later lived in various locations in Illinois and Iowa. She moved to Le Mars in 1997. She resided at Plymouth Life until moving to Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in 2007.
She loved to crochet and gifted most of the things she made. She was a talented piano player and enjoyed all types of music. She also was an avid card player. Her giving spirit was evident through all of her volunteering at Plymouth Life and Brentwood. Most of all, her life revolved around her children and grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, David Collins and his wife, Katie of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Deb and her husband, Mike Finney of Sioux City; a son, Dane Collins and his wife, Leigh of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Hanna Finney, Shawn and Emma Collins and Taylor and Payton Collins; and two brothers, Bernard Brown and his wife, Nancy of Swisher, Iowa, and Howard Brown and his wife, Judy of Kankakee, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
