SIOUX CITY -- Janet (Weber) Mead transcended in Big Lake, Texas, on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. She is a former Sioux City resident.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Miller Chapel in Liberal, Kan. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.

Janet, the daughter of Neama (Swaim) and Ivel Weber, was born March 1, 1951, in Sioux City. She lived in Sioux City until 1969, when she moved to Liberal. She married George Mead on Aug. 29, 1982. Several years later, she moved to Big Lake, Texas.

Survivors include her husband, George Mead; a son, John Godslevsky; a daughter, Roxanne Godslevsky; three sons, John Mead, Douglas Mead and Austin Mead of Big Lake, Texas; two brothers, Dennis Weber of Chicago, Ill., and David Weber of Sergeant Bluff; three sisters, Caroline Cartee of Tyrone, Okla., Sharon Larson of Bonifax, Fla., and Barbara (Jeff) Treglia of Sioux City; an aunt, Arletta Mutt; an uncle, Darrell Swaim of Missouri; and her stepmother, Agnes Weber of Sioux City.
