25 February 2009SIOUX CITY -- Donald R. Flaugh, 54, of Sioux City went to be with his heavenly father Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
A celebration of his life will be 6 p.m. Thursday at 3320 Line Drive. Per his wishes, the body was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Don was born April 26, 1954, in Sioux City, to Richard and Betty (Calkins) Flaugh Sr. He married Tammy Longwell and to this union a son, Monty, was born on Sept. 2, 1981.
He enjoyed country music and playing cribbage.
Survivors include his son, Monty, of Sioux City; his mother, Betty, and stepfather, Bill Conway, of Kimball, S.D.; stepmother, Kathy (Flaugh), and Al Hurbert of Salix, Iowa; four brothers, Bruce Flaugh Sr. of Burbank, S.D., Ernie and Jackie Flaugh of Vermillion, S.D., and Chad Flaugh and Craig Flaugh, both of Sioux City; three sisters, Patty and Matt Nelson of Vermillion, S.D., Toni Flaugh of Sioux City and Dana and Mike Mertens of Sergeant Bluff; and a special friend, Yvonne Strehlow of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy; his father, Richard; a brother, Richard Jr.; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
