SIOUX CITY -- Tommie L. Grantham Sr. of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Braman Mortuary, 6505 S. 144th Street, Omaha. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Visitation with the family will be 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the mortuary.

Tommie was born Feb. 1, 1934, in Norman Park, Ga. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. He owned the Standard Oil/Amoco Gas Station in Sioux City for a number of years. Before retiring, he worked at Sioux City Brick and Tile in Sergeant Bluff.

He loved to fish, hunt, watch NASCAR races and spend time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Tom Grantham and his wife, Tammy, of Creston, Iowa, Bob Grantham and his wife, Julie, of Omaha, Susie Grantham of Ames, Iowa, and Scott Johnson of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Isabella, Sophia, Hunter and Brody Grantham and Jacob and Jared Johnson; a brother, Julian Grantham; and a sister, Carolyn, and her husband, Cody Booth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Grady Grantham; a brother, Joe Grantham; and his wife, Judy Grantham.
