SIOUX CITY -- Monica Tullis, 92, of Spokane, Wash., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, in Spokane.

Graveside services will be at a later date in Ellendale Cemetery, north of Sioux City.

Monica was born in Sioux City to Henry and Monica Beaulieu on Dec. 18, 1916. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Sioux City.

She married Frank Tullis on Jan. 17, 1938. The couple were members of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City. She worked for Younkers Department Store as a department manager until her retirement. She moved to Spokane, Wash., in 1998.

She enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing cards.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Tullis) Hahn of Spokane, Wash.; her son, Tom Tullis and his wife, Glenda of Boone, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Marguerite Tullis of Hinton, Iowa; seven grandchildren, LeAnn Troester of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, Allan Hahn of Spokane, Karen Pellicano of Hillsboro, N.H., Kelly Bunting of Boone, Iowa, Troy Tullis of Boone, Michelle Simpson of Boone and Jennifer Lemke of Boone; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son-in-law; and three sisters.
