6 February 2009SIOUX CITY -- Phyllis M. Iverson, 84, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital surrounded by her family.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Travis officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Phyllis was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Sioux City, to Nicholas S. and Rachel Marie (Rudolph) Dorsey. She grew up in Leeds and attended Leeds High School.
She married Peter L. Iverson on Jan. 28, 1943, in Dakota City. She worked at Toy National Bank until she retired in 1987.
She was baptized, confirmed and a life long member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling and playing golf, which she played on the women's league at Sun Valley Golf Course. She also enjoyed playing bingo. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Don) Van Roekel and Sandra (Larry) Kunze, all of Sioux City; two granddaughters, Christy Kunze and Robyn Kunze; and seven great-grandchildren, Brandi Preston, Ben Preston, Bailey Preston, Brody Kunze, Carson Kunze, Miranda Kunze and Blake Kunze.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter on April 11, 1984; a sister, Marion Keller; a brother, John Dorsey; and a granddaughter, Kamie Preston.
