26 November 1999Glen J. Houpt, 89, of Sioux City died Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City.
No services or visitation are scheduled. Arrangements are being handled by Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mr. Houpt was born June 8, 1910 in Bristow, Nebraska, the son of Jess and Nettie (Holmes) Houpt. He grew up in Sioux City and was in the first graduating class at East High School. He attended the University of Nebraska.
He married Marjorie L. Strunk, March 1, 1935 in Sioux City.
He worked as a structural engineer and designer. He was a lifetime Member of the Masonic Lodge in Rock Island, Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Sioux City; two sons; Glen Houpt and his wife, Isobel of Sioux City, Jerry Houpt and his wife, Karen of Sioux City; three grandchildren: Michelle Houpt, Terry Houpt and Glen Houpt III and one great-granddaughter.
